Seasoned attorney Helen Naves launches HNaves Advogados

In late September, renowned attorney Helen Naves announced the launch of HNaves Advogados, a São Paulo-based banking, finance, and capital markets boutique focused on transaction advisory services, legal opinions, due diligence, banking compliance, financial operations, foreign and domestic investments and debt restructuring.

The new boutique firm aims on providing tailor-made services with cost flexibility to its clients, besides establishing strategic partnerships with small and medium-sized national and foreign firms that need assistance in the financial sector in Brazil, taking advantage of with Ms. Naves’ license to practice law in New York and her participation in the Executive Committee of the International Section of the New York Bar Association.

Hailing from major full-service law firms Demarest Advogados and Trench Rossi Watanabe ,as well as from the legal departments of leading financial institutions such as Banco Safra and Santander, Ms. Naves holds over 20 years of substantial experience in the legal market, specially on the draft and negotiation of structured cross-border finance contracts, derivatives, bank loans and capital markets documents. Academically, she holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Master’s degree in Commercial Law and a specialization degree in Capital Markets from Universidade de São Paulo (USP), in addition to an LL.M degree in Corporate, Banking and Finance Law from Fordham University School of Law (USA).

“I have been a client before and so I know their needs. My main goal is to be a regular support for the legal departments of financial institutions, whether for day-to-day issues or for major strategic issues. Besides that, I also have the possibility of offering clients a more accessible cost than large law firms, and more flexibility, maintaining the quality of a full-service firm – but with a differentiated efficiency, given the service provided directly by the partner in a lean structure.”, stated Ms. Naves.
